Description

Fethiye is the most important port of the southern Aegean coast. It is on the coast, in front of Rhodes and until 1923 was known as Mekri. The carpets which are referred to as Fethiye are those of latest production, decorated with floral motifs typical of the Mejid, with a red or gold field adorned with large wreaths and French-style bouquets. They are made entirely of wool, with symmetrical knot.
