Nomadic tribes Karakecili live in small villages in central Turkey, near Balikesir. Their carpets are small and simple, knotted with harsh wool in symmetrical knots; the plot is dyed red and passes two or three times between nodes. The colors are dark and the designs are minutes and rigidly geometrical. Generally in the field there are hooked profiled rumbles, while in the border and along the final kilim strip in the ends there are little S-shaped motifs.
